The MC leads all camp programs with excellence and enthusiasm and serves as the spiritual leader for the camp. The responsibilities of the MC include but are not limited to the following:
Job Requirements:
- Learn all program scripts prior to attending Leadership Summit
- Attend Leadership Summit in Colorado (required to attend annually)
- Invest time and prayer to prepare prior to camp
- Present all morning and evening programs at camp, following the provided script, with energy, excellence, and participants
- Support other Red Shirt staff
- Meet daily with program manager, program team member, and worship leader to prepare for upcoming program(s), checking all needed props and materials, media equipment, song selection, and lyrics
- Run drama rehearsals and be available to help during music team rehearsals
- Check in with the crew devotion leaders every afternoon as they return from their work sites
- Visit work sites where participants are serving
- Check in with and encourage youth leaders
- Co-lead adult leader meetings and attend daily staff meetings
- Work with the director to resolve camp issues swiftly and effectively
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift objects up to 50 pounds
- Capable of working (walking, standing, sitting, etc.) for 10-14 hours per day
- Prepared to work busy camp days with an average of 5-6 hours of sleep per night
Compensation
This is a paid position, offering compensation of $1,200 for each camp you are confirmed to MC. Travel expenses are also covered in accordance with our company travel guidelines.
