The hospitality team member supports the summer staff and the camp by assisting in the kitchen, serving around the lodging facility, visiting project sites and building positive relationships with participants. The responsibilities of the hospitality team member include, but are not limited to, the following:
Job Requirements
- Review all volunteer training resources provided prior to camp
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and friendly kitchen environment
- Assist in preparing hot breakfast and dinner
- Ensure that lunches are packed and ready for work crews each day
- Help create a welcoming, clean, and safe environment in the lodging facility
- Be a friendly face for participants and lodging facility staff
- Visit project sites daily to help take photos, encourage crews, and check in on service projects
- Take photos around the facility, during programs, and during Sunday check-in
- Commit to developing relationships with participants, Red Shirts, lodging facility staff, and members of the community
- Assist the summer staff by offering support and helping with tasks as needed
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift objects up to 50 pounds
- Capable of working (walking, standing, sitting, etc.) for 10-14 hours per day
- Prepared to work busy camp days with an average of 5-6 hours of sleep per night
