The worship leader leads musical worship both instrumentally and vocally in all camp programs with involvement from campers. The responsibilities of the worship leader include but are not limited to the following:
Job Requirements
- Review training resources prior to camp
- Learn, prepare, and practice all music selections from provided song list prior to camp
- Work with the MC and program manager to verify song selection for each program. Double check all lyrics and order of songs with program manager
- Lead daily music team rehearsals with any camp participants wanting to be involved, reminding them of their role in helping others worship God
- Assist the program manager in maintaining, tearing down, and packing the program area
- Be a positive and genuine spiritual encouragement to participants and staff on and off stage
- Engage participants in worship and seek to build relationships with them, as this is vital to the success of camp
- Commit to developing relationships with participants, Red Shirts, lodging facility staff, cosponsors, and members of the community
- Check in each day with the director, summer staff, and other Red Shirt staff to offer support and help them with tasks as needed
- Attend daily program team meetings (consisting of MC, program manager, program team member, and worship leader)
- Attend nightly staff meetings
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift objects up to 50 pounds
- Capable of working (walking, standing, sitting, etc.) for 10-14 hours per day
- Prepared to work busy camp days with an average of 5-6 hours of sleep per night
